Amertenor
In 2014 I approached Rory Dowling of Taran Guitars, Fife, with an idea for a unique guitar to suit my physiology and playing style.
I’ve had an arm injury for much of my life which makes playing full-size acoustic guitars uncomfortable, therefore I needed something that would allow me easier playability but would also better serve my playing style.
The ‘Amertenor’ (named by Rory) did just that, and has changed my musical life since it was finished in 2017. In my design I was inspired by a few things, but chiefly the nordic mandola and tenor guitar (the playing of Ale Möller and Mike Vass particularly).
If you need a bespoke guitar of any sort, there’s nobody better in the world. I’m looking forward to more collaboration with Rory in the years ahead (watch this space).

Electric Guitar
My electric guitar is a Fender Mustang that I’ve modified in various ways. I particularly love the short-scale neck.
Pickups by Jamie at ‘The Creamery’.
I use D’Addario strings on all my guitars.
